how much memory do i need?

Trying to decide on whether to get the 16gb or 32gb iPhone 5. Does anyone know the best way to explain how memory is used and also, does the ICloud help clear up any memory by using it?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

The only option for "memory" is storage space, just like the hard drive in your computer, and how much you need will depend solely on how much content and how many apps you wish to have on your iPhone and how large those would be. Keeping a lot of movies will naturally take up more space than would a bunch of emails and text documents. How much will be enough for you is therefore something only you can decide. My advice is to get more than you think you'll need. You can't add capacity to an iPhone, so if you found you don't have enough, your only recourse would be to buy a new iPhone.

As to iCloud, no, that really doesn't play into the situation all that much. iCloud is much more of a synchronization service, to make it easy to have all your content on all your devices, than it is a cloud-based server system.
