One of my co workers upgraded to the new iOS 6 last week and now they can't open some of the Excel files from their iPhone 4S. I can open the file with no problem, I have iOS 5.1.1 iPhone 4S. iOS 6 can open some of the excel files, but I know it can't open them all. Some of the .xlsx files will open but some can't. Anyone else having this problem?

I found out if I convert the file to .xls, I can open it in iOS 6. But by doing so, I break all the links inside the spreadsheet. In particular the DLOOKUPs.
I cannot open XLS files. What's up Apple? From a business stand-point, this is accessible. When will the fix be out?

I have the same problem in my users can't open older excel files that end in a .xls format but it works fine with .xlsx format. Yes Apple! please fix this glitch! It should be backwards compatible.
