Printer offline / not found after install of security 2012-4

I installed security update 2012-4 on macbook pro running 10.6.8 and after restart my HP Laserjet P2055dn reported offline. Tried many combination sof reboot (printer/system); deleted printer and now it's not found by system to re-add; tried resetting printer system entirely; still not found. I really want my printer (which is still on the list of supported printers).

Did anyone else run into this or know of a fix?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), i5; 8GB; NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M

Thanks for the suggestions. I did try all those without any luck. It's a USB printer and just wasn't being seen.

What finally fixed it was plugging the printer's USB cable directly into the mac rather than through USB hub. As soon as I did that it was detected / installed / online. Has been working fine on hub for 1.5 yrs, and other devices connected thru hub all fine still. Tried other ports on hub too but that didn't help.

Maybe it was a coincidence that it went "offline" at the same time as the security patch was installed... Murphy's law?
