I just got a new Iphone5. When syncing with Itunes I find it won;t sync my custom ringtones. I just synced my Ipad using the exact same settlings. Those same ringtones synced with the Ipad and show up in the "Sounds" tab on the Ipad. They do not show up on the Iphone. Help please.

i just figured this out.
you have to remove all your custom ringtones from your itunes 'tone' library then re add them. then you can click sync and it works. hope this helps.

My daughter gave me a simpler solution. With the IPhone connected open the Tones folder. Highlight all of the tones. Then drag and drop into the IPhone icon. Worked like a charm. The phone then synced the ringtones.
Can someone please explain to me where the "Tones" folder is in iTunes? I don't even have access to one... The reason I stumbled onto this page is because I cannot figure out how to add customized ringtones on my iPhone 5. Any help you all can give would be much appreciated!!
Nevermind... I figured it out. The folder hadn't appeared in iTunes because I did not yet have any "extra" ringtones on my iPhone other than those that were "pre-installed".
Thanks, Jemma. While the phone was connected for syncing, removing the "tones" by unchecking the boxes and then re-adding them worked great.
The other suggested method of dragging the tones onto the iPhone icon did not work but that might be because I am using the new 11.0 version of iTunes.
If on the summary section of the Iphone if you scroll down and click Manage music and videos manually then sync then drag the tone from your itunes tone section to the phone it syncs it

I cannot get the tone into the phone. In itunes 11 under the tones tab the ringtone is there but is greyed. There is also a dotted circle to the lft of the check mark. When i hit Sync it seems like it is working but when i look in the iphone 5...settings > sounds > ringtone , only the pre installed are listed. nothing new.
Hey mikejoy, I also got the dotted circle and googled somemore and found out that my ring tone was too long. The time length for custom iphone 5 ringtones can be no longer than 30 seconds which *****. There are programs that will extend the length like iskysoft.com which I may try. good luck!

I'm getting the dotted circle and none of my tone are over 30 seconds. They all synced fine on my iPhone 4, but not my new iPhone 5.
