Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
I did find this message repeated twice "Invalid memory access of location 0Xfffffff0 eip=0X9494218" and then "([0X0_014014].com.apple.Safari[131]) Exited abnormally: Segmentation fault" which was also repeated twice. I have no idea what this means. Do you?
Good work, now we need more of the messages, but not too many, look for Crash logs>Safari
I do not know where to look. I went back to Console in Utilities and did not find any messages that had "Crash logs" in them. Was I in the right place? I did try to remote back into my office computer, received the same message and then copied the error message which is pages long. I looked in it and did not find any "Crash logs" wording in it. I'm sorry. However one thing I do see is a repeated message "Java thread.....thread blocked." Is that helpful?
Likely Java is disabled, if needed for a particular site do the opposite of this...
Disable Java in your Browser settings, not JavaScript.

In Console did you click on the All Logs icon?

I've had the same and only issue since i installed Mountain Lion, and it only happens when I try to save an image or webpage. Sometimes it works and other times the pinwheel appears and then Safari shuts down. I've reported the issue via crash report to Apple each time. No help so far. I don't think Java has anything to do with saving an image or webpage/document, and if it does, shutting it off doesn't let me use Twitter which is the only Social application I use other than Imessage.
Thre are no messages in Console that indicate anything. When it has a problem the only info seems to appear in the crash report.

Waste of time in my opinion, why not start a new question here, post a single crash log, see if us users can help!
