Turning off 3G on iPhone 5

Hi everyone so I just got the iphone 5 yesterday & I was wondering why there is no 3G on & off toggle again? it has a 4G LTE toggle which is good cause we don't have 4G LTE yet here but even when I turn it off there is my 3G. When I am using WiFi at home I see the WiFi symbol at the top does that mean my 3G is also still running at the same time?
