I have a 10.5.8 mac. probably 7 yrs old. If I get a faster internet can my mac handle it?

It takes forever to get online. I have Cox internet because I have Cox cable. Safari is very slow at times. Sometimes it seems as if it won't ever open. I've heard that my computer will only go so fast. Would getting a faster speed internet work on my Safari?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Faster Internet may help, but try this...

Try putting these numbers in Network>TCP/IP>DNS Servers, for the Interface you connect with...

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

Then Apply. For 10.5/10.6 Network, highlight Interface>Advanced button>DNS tab>little + icon.

Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.

You lost me. I open Network, I can add one line of numbers where it says DNS and then apply. Don't know what highlite interface, etc means. Console is loaded with lines, throttle respawn, string argument, incompatible applications. Could you please explain this "in english." I really appreciate your willingness to help me.

Copy & paste few of those Console lines here please. Couldn't copy so I entered manually 3 different lines
