I have the beginnings of a book created and exported it to a file on the Mac. Then I imported it into iTunes. This worked fine. When I tried to import it to the iPad I get an error message â not copied because it requires a later version of iBooksâ. The Mac is 10.8.2, iBooks Author is 1.1, the iPad2 is running iOS 6, and iBooks is version 2.2. Can someone help?
What is the file suffix on the book you're trying to move to the iPad?
.iba or .ibooks ...?
the suffix is .ibooks when it is imported into iTunes. That seemes to work fine.
Given your info, I have no guess as to why you'd see that error, sorry.
Can you 'Preview' via iBA ok?
Can you email to yourself and open ok?
The preview from iBA works OK. I will try the email and see if that works. Wonder if this has something to do with iOS 6?

Anyone else have any ideas? I can preview OK with the iPad attached to the Mac but still can not import from iTunes to the iPad. đ
Try reinstalling iBooks.
Still no joy, see if this happens with any new book you create as well.
I am not exactly sure what happened but I have been able to import the test book to the iPad since I renamed the project and saved it as a new file name. Each time import the book into the iPad I get a message "The operation could not be completed. (ATError error 3.)". The book loads and I am able to open it. It appears that all of the content is inplace and working on the iPad. Does anyone know what this message means?
You can google it to see others experiences w/it, but it seems only Apple knows. Seems to be a document handling error - how big is your book?

The book is 74.3mb. I did look for an explanation as to what the error message means but as you say only Apple seems to know. Thanks KT for your help. It is nice to have a discussion and get other ideas when you have a problem.
