Sep 26, 2012 10:09 PM in response to stevewalker1986by babowa,★HelpfulI've heard a couple of different opinions; personally, I prefer to stay with the exact specs supported by Apple. Besides, it would seem to me that it would not make that much difference - on the other hand, going from 4 GB to 8, 12, or 16 would make far more sense in my humble opinion.

Sep 26, 2012 10:13 PM in response to babowaby stevewalker1986,Thanks for the input babowa. Just to clarify though, it would actually be going from 2x2gb to 4x2gb, doubling my RAM from 4gb to 8gb. I'm figuring this would be fairly noticeable increase in RAM-intensive performance (ie. large pdf, or having multiple programs open?)

Sep 26, 2012 10:17 PM in response to stevewalker1986by babowa,I guess I missed the part that you'd be increasing the number; however, I'm going to stick with my earlier recommendation to stay with the exact specs as supported by Apple. So, if you want to try it - it's your machine.... I assume it's no longer covered under Applecare, so you wouldn't be voiding the warranty.
