iBooks dictionary not working

I'm having the same issue

Same thing here. It started to download the dictionary and then stopped.

Some videos exported from Keynote to an iBook midia widget does not working anymore after this upgrade!

I did a downgrade on ipad to 2.1.1 and my iBook widget back to work properly, but on iBooks 2.2 it does not work!

Strange that it ocurred on compiled books. Disappointed.

Is there a solution?

I found a workaround. Turn off the speaking function in iBooks. General>Settings>Accesability>,Speak Selection.

Turn off the feature and everything works fine. This is only helpful if you don't actively use the Speak function. This is a usable work around until they come out with an update. Of course you may need to completely close out of ibooks and possibly restart your iPad

Thx. This solved my issue. Lets hope Apple fixes the bug so I can turn the speak feature back on. Btw, I have the iPhone 5 running iOS 6.0.

Hmm. Thanks for the tip - although won't work for me, since mine was already switched to off. I switched it on, then off again, and have restarted my iPad. That didn't work - in fact, it switched it back on once it was restarted, and when I highlighted a word, the only option I got was Speak.

So I turned speech off again, force-quit iBooks, and it's still back to where I was - the dictionary not working.

UGH.

All this, and even after yesterday's app update from Apple, it still doesn't work.

I have the same issue. After updating the English dictionary from IBooks stopped working

My iBook dictionary suddenly quit working. Not sure why. I went to the app store and downloaded an update to my iBook reader. All of the features are functioning, now.
