iPad won't sync to Mac after latest update

After the ios 6 update, my ipad won't sync to my macbook pro any more. No problem with icloud. But every time I connect to my mac, the sync will start step 1, go to step 2 and then fail saying that "apps install could not be determined". Same error when I try to sync via wifi.


In the "post-pc world", should I even worry about this at all? Should I delete all apps, or try to reset my ipad to factory setting and resync?
