Why has Software Update stopped iTunes?

I'm running iTunes 10.5.3 on my G4, with no problems. Software Update used to offer me iTunes 10.6 but I could never make up my mind if I needed it. But recently, Software Update has stopped including iTunes in its list. Why?

I should also point out that when I launch iTunes, I SOMETIMES still get offered the chance to upgrade to 10.6.3. But not always.

What's going on?

PowerBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8), G4, 1.67GHz, 1GB RAM, 250GB HD

😁 Crikey. This is the second time this morning I've had to go to Wikipedia to try to track down something.

I can't recall a huge amount of stuff other than what is listed at Wikipedia:

10.6.12012-03-28Fixes possible crash when playing videos, changing artwork size in grid view, or at syncing photos to devices. Addresses issues with VoiceOver and WindowEyes. Fixes problems with iPod nano and iPod shuffle. Resolves an ordering problem with Apple TV.[129]
