Different User Accounts on one IPad / Mehrere Benutzer Benutzerkonten bei einem IPad IOS 6

Hello !

We would like to buy a new IPad 3rd generation with 64GB, but try to get information, if it is now possible to set up

for example

3 different User Accounts

with 3 different apple itunes accounts

The reason is, that we (family 3 person), want to use the IPad all together.

And whenever someone of the three of us works with the IPad we want to switch to its own user account.

Is there an possibility to set up different user accounts ?

How does it work ? any description available ?

It's not possible. The iPad was created to be a single user device so you can't partition it off like a PC with separate accounts, access and info.

It's not currently possible, the iPad is basically a single user device with one set of apps (an app can only appear once) and content on it. You can, for example, have more than one email account set up in the Mail app and if your iTunes accounts are authorised, and their content is on, the computer that you'd sync it to then you can have music from all 3 accounts on the iPad in the Music app, but you can't have separate user accounts in the same way as you can on a computer.

Dear Apple ... I'm deeply shakened by these answers !

Where's the galactive innovative consumer-orientated thinking of Apple gone ? My deepest believes start to disappear....

I'm not used to hear from Apple fans / Apple team: "NO, it is not (currently) possible ..."

Dear Apple: Have you ever thought about that more than one person could want to use the IPad ? For example a bunch of people, man, women, kids...commonly called "family" ?

Of course, we don't expect the IPad to cook our meals, or to wash our laundries...but such a simple thing as different user accounts on the IPad, of course with some restrictions as no email access, should be really possible ?

Why do these people from "Cydia" call it "iUsers" and provide a solution what the "big apple" doesn't want to ?

Just a statement: I'm an apple fan, not an jailbreak fan.....I like just pure "apple stuff" !

So...my final conclusion....our family conclusion: We're not buying an IPad at the moment, because the innovative spirit is missing. I have to ask Bill, what he'll suggests....

Dear AnHolzer,

I so totally agree with you, the iPad would be a beautiful (even more so than it is today) if it allowed people to "login" with a name and a password and so members of the family could use it together (without having to change settings, or avoid Facebook/Linked usage). I have received one from my company and I'm stuck! I can't use it for anything of any seriuos worth, e-mails, Facebook, net searches, etc etc.

I also agree with you in a way: if a PC can do it... Then what gives? :)

Anyway. Thanks for the brilliant product. Add "login/accounts" and we're all hooked for the rest of our lives to the device... :)

The current solution makes alot of sense, in my family we have 5 iPads. 1 for each of the kids, ranging from 3 to 7 years old, and one for each of myself and my wife. If we could have user accounts, Apple would have only sold 1 iPad instead of 5....

So Apple made a correct business desicion by not making it possible to have more than one account per iPad...

Well, yes and no, that's like saying if car manufacturers only made tiny cars to only fit one person they'd surely sell a whole lot more - and while that may be true for some families out there, I'm not sure that's how the majority of the people inside the market really think.
