Keynote and Remote on I Pad and I Phone

Bought this app, gave a demo of it showing how I could control a presentation from my phone. Everyone was impressed, but not the link is simply not working. I am using it on work wi fi and have also tried it on Bluetooth, but nothing. Any suggestions?
