Motorola Phone Tools and Mac

I recently purchases a Motorola V3i. I want to download phone tools onto my Mac G5, but the CD that came with the phone seems to be for PCs only. Is there a way to get this to download on my Mac, or do I need to buy separate software? If the latter, can someone lead me to an on-line site for the same??

G5, Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I have the G5 I-Sight Imac and V3i Itunes, I use bluetooth to send the files (Tones/Games/Themes) and I Sync for my calandars/contacts. It works perfectly. To be honest I have used Motorola's software on a peecee before now and it is worse than useless. I only use the USB cable supplied for syncing up my ITunes as you cannot bluetooth them accross (At least I have not found a way).

Hope this helps...

Jamie,

After a bit of playing around on your behalf, I managed to sort out how to get ring tones onto your phone...

Pick the tune you want in itunes, and then convert it using the following settings:

MPEG-1 Layer 3
Bit Rate 64kbps
Sample Rate 32.000kHz
Channels: Joint Stereo

then copy the songs via USB cable into your music folder onto your V3i...

this works for myself and my wifes v3 RAZR...but you may have to play around a little on the MP3 conversion settings depending on your phones firmware version.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers

Dean

Here's how I got ringtones on my V360. Connect your cell via USB to your computer 1. Turn on Bluetooth File Exchange in Apple Utilities on your computer. 2. Make sure your cell is on - I had bluetooth turned on for both my computer and cell at the time but I am not sure it matters. - go to setting/connection/USB settings - set it to Data/Fax Connection. Try to browse with Bluetooth File Exchange - you should see your cell come up and your cell should ask to pair with your computer. Type in a password on your cell -enter it into your computer - and voila - add your 64kb or whatever mp3s to the audio folder. After it's done downloading - you should see them on your phone in the ringers section.
