Can you use FaceTime with Skype? My wife is going to Europe for a week on business and she wants to be able to see/ speak to our son while over there (she is on a PC), is Skype the way to go? Does Skype work with FaceTime or just use Skype?

FaceTime and Skype do not work together. Get Skype for your Mac or your iPad and wish her a great trip!

Skype is a different software package and different commercial system than Apple's FaceTime and do not work together. Skype places a much heavier load on the system and users report significant battery drain under Skype.
