I usually use the iPhone earbuds when I talk on my iPhone 4 and they've always had clear sound. Since I installed OS 6 I hear a lot of feedback and my voice echoes. This only happens when I plug in the earbuds after I'm on a call - if I make a new call with the earbuds already plugged in the sound is clear and doesn't echo. Does anyone else have this problem and if so, how do I fix it?

I'm having the EXACT issue except my iPhone 4 echoes even when I use the earbuds BEFORE I start a call. This began immediately after updating to iOS 6. This is does NOT happen with my wife's iPhone 4S. Only on my iPhone 4.

Definitely seems to be a software bug, most likely related to the noise cancelling mic located next to the headphoen jack IMHO.
I am really upset about this. I am using an i Phone 5 with the new apple earpods. When I am using the headset, callers can hear every little noise around me, ie. footsteps if I am walking, other people that are around me, pretty much any noise happening around me. It is embarassing and ridiculous. When I disconnect the headset and speak on the phone itself, there is no issue. It seems to be a problem when just using a headset with mic. Please advise if anyone has figured this out.
So now that we've established that many of us are having this problem, how do we fix it? Does Apple monitor these discussions?
Same with me. After IOS 6, strange echo. Kinda like the earbuds are on speaker as they seem to be picking up sounds all around me. I find this true with both apple ibuds and my skull candy buds.
I have the same issue. Can't put my phone in my pocket while I'm on a call, because it picks up the rustling in my jeans. So annoying. It happens with both Apple and non-Apple earbuds.
