Anyone knows if the camcorder SONY HXR MC-2000 is compatible with Imovie09 over MacBook ? Thanks in advance.

I have a computer Apple MacBook 2009, and I am editing my videos with Imovie09. I must to realize videos using the camcorder SONY HXR MC-2000 which use AVCHD codification. The format of this camera is MPEG.4 High Profile H.264. I am not sure if there is compability with my MacBook and Imovie09.

Are there anyone thar know with security if is compatible?.

You should be able to import any mp4 data into imovie, doesnt matter if compatible or not, your mac will be able to recognise it at least as a drive for you to copy the data across from.

Thank you Ryan. You say that I can import the files from the camcorder to a folder on my Mac and the Imovie09 can process this files with no problem.

If iMovie does not recognize that format, you should be able to use MPEG Streamclip (free) which is a video converter. You can drag the video into its window and choose to export in a format iMovie can recognize.
