Q: iTunes won't update for my macbook.

It looks for software updates and says my software is all up to date but I'm still running off iTunes 10.1. I'm trying to update my phone and it won't let me until my iTunes is updated. I tried downloading it from Apple but I'm given an iTunesSetup.exe that turns out to be a text document of random symbols. I'm seriously failing and need a hand.

MacBook (13-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.5.8)
