Q: My iPhone 5 won't charge

I had the same issue with my 5s on a number of occasions. Try cleaning out the charging port on the phone. This resolved my issue in a matter of seconds.

This is the most helpful post I've seen on here so far. However, as soon as I plug my device in (after I open iTunes), the 'battery' and 'bolt' icon pops up for a few seconds, starts to flash and then it disappears again. This goes on without actually starting up my device. So basically, the iTunes thing helped, but my device remains off and I am unable to use it as it can't charge long enough for the apple icon the appear.

If anyone has more advice regarding this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. Apple support couldn't help but I did as you suggested and "presto" it started charging. I was ready to buy a new phone. THANKS! jp

Yesterday it happened to me. I connected the iPhone to the PC with the USB cable but with iTunes closed. When I launched iTunes, the iPhone started to work properly. Nothing more neede.
