AirPlay stops when iPhone locks
I've tried a couple of video play back tests and it seems when my iPhone 5 locks after 1 min, playback on Apple TV (latest) also stops. Any ideas?

iOS 9 seems to have re-introduced this bug. AirPlay stops as soon as the iPhone or iPad display goes to sleep. The display does not go to sleep when playing locally, only when playing via AirPlay.
confirmed, I have these issues on all my apple devices including the latest beta for iphone 6 plus. So not sure how to deal against it, it is very frustrating.
Same here. To add to that, I tried airplay for the first time when I first got my iPhone 6s Plus. At that time, not only would Airplay keep working when the phone locked but I could also run another App while the video was still streaming via Airplay. That all stopped when iOS updated to the current version.
Okay, since I just bought my iPhone, I contacted customer support via chat to try and resolve this issue. After 40 minutes and two support reps, I finally got tired of them asking me the same questions over and over and told them so. They finally set me up for a call back. Phone rings at the scheduled time and no one is on the other line. Why even call it customer support. I actually asked the last "CSR" if the iPhone and Apple TV is designed so that streaming continues when the phone locks. Instead of answering my questions, she gets defensive and tells me that I have to be respectful. I expect this kind of service if I'm calling Comcast but not from Apple. Sorry to put it on this post but I am extremely frustrated right now and just needed to vent.
same thing here... but not only airplay... the music apps just stop playing... also on my headphones... as soon as it sleeps.... but only on wifi.... on 4g it just keeps playing in the background
Hey guys,
so I recognized this problem a while ago as well but found a little trick that helps me.
As soon as I put something on AirPlay I press the Home Button and then lock my iPhone or iPad. Then the AirPlay keeps on working.
Try that out maybe it'll work for you too.
Cheers,
Lenny
I found answer in other post and work for me. all have to do is using chrome instead of safari to airplay.
Use a static image as background instead of Dynamic or Live.
I found this resolution in one another post and it works fine.
