Q: Time Machine incredibly slow

Since I updated the OS X Lion to 10.7.5 in my MacBook Pro 2011 Time Machine has become incredibly slow.

I'm doing a backup right now, destination: Time Capsule 2TB (1Gb free space) is just 31 Mb and Time Machine is frozen on 21.5 Mb for more than half an hour. Yesterday the same problem, incredibly slow.

I remember that just one week ago, before update the OS to backup 31 Mb it would take just 5 minutes.

Thank you Markino, you are a genius !!!

At last I got my back ups on Time Machine.

Was able to back up about 110 GB in 2 hours.

Not sure what method worked. I tried adding the Time machine in Privacy window & then removing it as well as disabling Spotlight using the "terminal"

It seems that a little wizard solved the problem with a small patch called OS X Lion 10.7.5 Supplemental Update.

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1599

The Update size is less than 2mb and now everything is fine in my MacBook Pro, Time Machine and Spotlight are working as before. I indexed my HD in less than 30 minutes.

The supplemental update solved my problem. For days I was getting the message that my backup would take 33 or more days. After the 10.7.5 supplemental update on 10/7 I was able to backup 90Gb in less just a few hours.

    Tearing hair out . .

    - disabled Spotlight using "privacy" in System Preferences

    - tried to turn off Spotlight with Terminal but got "launchctl: Error unloading: com.apple.metadata.eds"

    - thrown out update in progress

    - installed Lion supplimental 10.7.5.5

    Any other ideas out there??
