Question

Have tried everything to fix iCal duplicate entries

Have done hours' worth of forum searching and messing around in iTunes to correct duplicate entries in iCal on phone.

I must have logged into iCloud, which I don't use, in an effort to fix the problems that started when I upgraded phone to OS6. Am running Snow Leopard on Mac. No matter how many times I remove iCal entries and then try to replace via iTunes I am stuck with 4 years' worth of duplicate entries...help welcomed and appreciated!!!

iPhone 4S, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

When you go to icloud.com on your computer and look at your calendar there, does it contain these duplicates too?

Then you probably have both iCloud calendars and On My Mac Calendars active at the same time. on iCa/Calendars click clanedar button on top and deactivate the "duplicate" calendars.

And then what? I only sync with iTunes. How can I fix my iPhone iCal?

I am not logged into iCloud on my phone.

I think so...I enter everything into home but it seems whatever I've entered via iPhone the last few days has gone into calendar (not really sure what that is; isn't the whole thing a calendar?).

Don't sync your calendar with both iTunes and iCloud. If you are, and you prefer to sync with iTunes, go to Settings>iCloud and turn Calendars to Off. Then try replacing the calendar on your phone with your Mac iCal calendar again using iTunes.

I understand that. I don't have a place on my Mac where I can opt out of it from the one time I tried logging on. There is only a MobileMe button on my system prefs, no iCloud. Under settings on my phone, there is just a place to log in, so clearly I am not logged in. Am I supposed to log in and then change a setting?

When you open the calendar on your phone and tap Calendars on the top left, what calendars are listed (including any headings)?

Are you sure that your calendar is syncing proplerly with your Mac? If you an a new event on your iPhone calendar and then sync, does it appear on your Mac calendar?

Nope. That's what prompted all this! I had to upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6.8 b/c of the new phone software...wouldn't sync at all. Then I found anything I entered on the phone didn't sync over.
