Q: HELP!! Syncing problems :(

My ipod classic will not sync movies or tv shows but it will sync my music. It is brand new and i dont know why it wont work. It gives me a few error messages about songs and tv shows "because the format isnt supported"...? Then It keeps giving me error messages saying "Attempting to copy to the disk failed. The file cant be read or copied to." Overall it is preventing the sync of movies and tv shows (but not music videos). I have tried to fix it by updating itunes and restoring the ipod but neither have worked. Any ideas or help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!

    Sounds like you are trying to sync the HD version of the TV Episode.  You should try to download the Standard Definition copy instead and sync that to your device as HD content is not compatible with the iPod Classic.  See here for more information:

    iTunes: May be unable to transfer videos to iPhone, iPad, or iPod

     

    To prevent HD versions from being downloaded in the future head to the iTunes Store, click the Purchased link, and then select TV Shows and remove the tick mark next to Download HD when available.  You should be able to download the SD version now from under this same page.

     

    We'll start there for now.

    No it cant be that because all but one of my movies are in SD. The majority of my TV shows are in SD too. Any other ideas?

    Can you verify that by posting a screen shot of one of these's shows Summary tab of its Get Info window in iTunes?  To do access this, right->click on one of the shows and choose Get Info. Then select the Summary tab if necessary when the GI window appear.
