Iphone 5 flash out of sync

Just realised this as well, thankgod it's not just me, thought I had a faulty iphone 5

I too have this problem. Basically the flash is ahead of the camera and therefore doesn't light the subject at the correct time!!

It's definitely a software problem if a lot of people re experiencing it as we'll. apple simply need to alter the timing of the flash although its very hit and miss on my phone so it could be a hardware issue..in this case a complete recall would be necessary

Same thing has been happening to me. Even when I restart my phone or turn off the camera app nothing changes ....

Im having this problem too, as well as the purple haze

see in this image, my room isnt dark but even when i turn on the flash the whole image gets very dark.

I'm too having the same issue, the flash fires then the shutter fires resulting in completely under exposed images..

I had the problem, then did a soft reset (home button and top button) and it worked fine again.

Not sure if this feedback just flows in to outerspace, but I guess you might just see Apple responce with the relese of the iphone 5s or the 5sG5.

Just remember its the biggest thing to happen to the iphone since iphone.

Yes the soft reboot worked for me thank you. There needs to be a fix for this problem.

Me too. I had the same issue. The softreboot solved the problem.

Yes this is the right solution.

the reboot indeed fixes it "for a time", reset phone and it was fixed, but now we are back to being out of sync again. Not a permanent fix, but at least it's a workaround.

I have the same problem too.....reset helps but problem returns: See 2 "flash photos" attached.

Since I made the soft reboot the flash on my iPhone 5 works perfect and I hope the problem will not return.

I've been having the same problem, is it software or hardware? Do we need to take our phones back to apple?
