Q: How do I archive my Gmail messages to a certain folder, let's say to "MyArchive" rather than to "All Mail"?

I don't like to use All Mail -folder as a archive folder because then I cannot only deleted messages by OSX Mail. All Messages includes every mail in every folder, not just archived messages.

If I turn archive feature off then deleted messages will be directed to Bin folder that has 30 days permament auto-deletion. If I turn it on then archived messages will go to All Mail -folder. I have tried to use the Deleted Mailbox -setting but it seems there is no function with this setting as it resets every time  back to Bin -foldey

I just want to have a one folder for my deleted mails so that those are easily accessible and that those mails do not disappear magically for good after 30 days. I want to have full control of my deleted messages.

This is how Google has it designed with their Archive folder.

Delete and recreate the account as an Exchange account instead with a "No Limit" for the Mail Days to Sync option with all server stored mailboxes.

Right, so I created a new Exchange account for my Gmail and everything seems to be working fine. But I noticed that if I delete a message on iOS it will end up in to my Trash/Bin folder which has that 30 days auto-deletion feature. I could not find a way to change the behaviour of deleting messages and what folder should be used like it is possible to do with OSX Mail.

So my issue still excists, I do not want to put my trash in to that Google's Trash/Bin folder where my mail items will be destroyed without my consent. Both Exchange and Google Mail setup seems to force deleted mails to be deleted automaticly or to be cluttered into one big mess.

I would love to stop using that Archive function if I could select which folder I can use for my trash mail, like there is a setting for it. That setting seems to be overridden by Google's server settings. Quite amazing really how that has been designed for user "convenient".
