Can my MacBook Pro run Mountain Lion

I bought my Macbook Pro 6/2007. I am running Snow Lep. and want to know if I can up grade to Mountain Lion. When I had my machine in for repair in the spring a tec person said no, but a month ago a tec rep without seeing my laptop said yes. How can I tell for sure? Do I need to take it in again?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

See Step 1 here > Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

Apple says: MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)

Click your Apple menu icon. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.

You may want to upgrade the RAM if there is less than 4GB installed before upgrading to Mountain Lion.

And check to see if you have apps installed that may not run on Mountain Lion > App Compatibility Table - RoaringApps - App compatibility and feature support for OS X & iOS

Carolyn, Thanks for the reply. I saw the "mid/late 2007" and wondered how my MacbookPro fits into that. I didn't know if the base machines might be built ealier and a few parts installed when a unit is ordered. It seems probably that the base unit would be built overseas months earlier and a few order specific parts installed at in country facility. If so my basic unit could have been built early 2007. Perhaps that's why the first Tech rep told me no. I guess the best bet is to take it in again and get a few more opinions.

If they do say yes I have 4 GB of ram and thanks for the info about the compatibility Table. That will be important.
