After upgrading to iOS 6 I am having difficult typing in the text message field. I have to keep tapping, eventually it does work but as of today I have been trying to send a message for about 15 mintues and the cursor doesn't move into the text message field.

I have the same problem. Here's a quick solution. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to reveal the keyboard and then for some reason you can type the message. Definitely a bug. I tap and tap and it never lets me enter text unless I swipe up to show the keyboard.
Check Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field and make sure it's set to "Off".

Ooops - never mind. My subject line was already off. Hmmm...
It seems rebooting again helped a little but I bet it happens again.
I have the same problem, has a solution been found? I did check the settings and the subject line was already off. Thanks.
Hard rebooting fixed it after a 2nd time
