FACTORY UNLOCKED IPHONE 5

Apple has made no announcemetn at all about this.

The online Apple Store in Canada will not ship out of the country nor will they accept non-Canadian credit cards. So unless you plan to travel there and can find an unlocked iPhone at a physical Apple Store, or know someone in Canada who could buy the iPhone for you, you will have to wait. The same would apply to the US when Apple releases unlocked iPhones there.

I'd strongly suggest you just be patient and wait until the iPhone 5 is released in your country. If you buy an iPhone in another country and have any problems with it, you would not be able to get service for it without sending it to someone in that country (the EU is treated as one country for warranty purposes).

The verizon iphone 5 comes unlocked out of the box.

But it has to be activated by Verizon before it will work, and that requires a contract of some sort with Verizon.

At Verizon all you have to pay is $35 activation fee, then choose month-to month service plan. Pay full price for the phone, cancel service next day. And ready to go ... So just maybe $40 extra for fully unlocked iphone5!!!!

Nope. At this time all iPhone 5s in the US are subsidized by the carrier, so Verizon will not give you month-to-month service, not until iPhone 5s are available without contract (which if course will be at full price) and again, Apple has not announced such availability.

Really??? I just talked to Verizon last week about full price month-to month service plan Iphone 5. Did they changed that?

Verizon offers full price retail price Iphones 5 with month-to month plan ,i have just checked online....

Their web site didn't show that option the last time I checked, but I do see that now. Thanks. Folks would still be rather foolish to buy a US iPhone when they live in another country since there would be no warranty outside of the US, IMO, but it's at least an option for those who are desperate to get an iPhone 5 now.

You can find unlocked iphone 5's at any Retail Store. I've just got mine from the store by 5th avenue 3 days ago.

They're saying to be not sure why it wasn't announced yet.

Why don't you call the store and ask if they have them in stock?

I think you're a little late to the party. Verizon doesn't sell the iPhone 5 anymore.
