Green glow on iPhone 5 unlock screen?

I've had my iPhone 5 for a few days now and I've noticed this issue more and more. Whenever I wake my iPhone there is a split second where a green glow around the edge of the screen is visible. It's a bit like light leakage but its green and only appears for a fraction of a second after you turn on the screen. It is also sometimes activated by using the slide to unlock, which makes it glow brighter.

Does anyone else have this happening with their new iPhone? I don't know if this is the start of a defect or not... I have had very rare graphical flickering and tearing of the keyboard UI, but that's only happened once or twice and only for a second, as soon as I started typing it went away.

It looks like this might turn into a trip to the Apple store, I just wanted to know if anyone else has noticed this weird phenomenon on their new iPhones.

Yes! Exactly. I wish I knew more people with the iPhone 5 so I could test theirs to see if its a widespread issue, like the purple lens flares (which I also have =[) I guess the green glow isn't too much of an issue, but it is starting to annoy me!

I wonder if it has something to do with the new integrated touch display? Maybe an apple genius will know...

I have the same problem since the first day. I think its something to do with the new in cell display technology. Its getting worse day by day, especially when am on a call. Have never ever replaced any Apple product till now, I feel really bad walking into Apple Store and asking for a new one :-(. But got no other option. I hope Apple finds out the real issue with it soon. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

Update!

I went into my local apple store and they asked me to book a genius appointment, so I booked one for the next day. When I turned up the guy seemed really surprised that my iPhone was glowing green, he replaced it right there and then, in and out in 5 minutes =]

My only advice is to book an appointment online rather than just roll in there.

I have seen the artifacts now when the keyboard is up too. I've also now have a new problem where the flash going off after the camera has taken a photo leaving me with very dark images... I called them and they asked me to wipe it and set it up as a new phone and see if I had the same problems for a few hours. Then call them back. Apple Store isn't so close to me, so I'll give this a go.

I went in last night and showed the "genius" the green glow at least 30 times. It took over half an hour with him in the back of the store. He came back and said he never saw the green but he would replace it anyways. The bad part... It was already in my notes from apple care to replace. This is getting old. The one they replaced it with has a huge scratch on it and the top ceramic on the back on the left is chipped where its supposed to be rounded. This phone is ugly. And so far it's $40 a trip to the apple store for me... I didn't wait in line for a scratch and dent model iphone. Nor did I pay scratch and dent prices. This iphone should cost me the price of the phone and that's it. It should just work the first time I get it. Not $400 later and ten trips to apple store. Sorry guys but if they don't fix it I will have to join the "darkside".
