I am waiting for Apple to send me the replacement phone number 6, I haven't checked what week is it before, this one says it's either week 22 or 49.

I agree with Glenzymc... I don't know how right I could be but I don't think an iPhone's serial number ends in 3 numbers or 3 letters, mine doesn't.  I haven't seen any light leakage but I have seen the green issue with ALL of the models I've had (and still going). I do believe it's something to do with static electricity because it is very noticeable when taking it out of my pocked, have also replicated the glow it with the palm of my hand. This is the last replacement hopefully.

I'm going on to my 4th iPhone 5 now it's very annoying.

The reason for me believing it had something to do with the s/n ending with TWD is because I know 8 other people with iPhone 5's.

6 of them people have the green glow and all of their s/n ends with TWD but the other 2 people never had this problem with their iPhone 5's and their s/n ends with TWH and TWF.

I have the same problem and i've changed my phone, but it's still happening. My friends have iphone 5 and nobody has the same issue.

One thing I've found is that using a screen protector, 99% of the time, will fix the green glow, or at least reduce it greatly. The problem is I hate the feel of screen protectors, and all the hassle with putting them on and getting the dust/bubbles out. For me, I'd rather just put up with the green glow!

On a side note, Ive tried all the iPhones in my local apple store, even the one of the store assistant, and they all glowed. I cant believe that apple is still unaware of this issue, they haven't made it public and apple stores are still surprised to see it. I guess we'll have to wait till the 5S to see if apple are actually fixing this!

Mine just started doing this. Has everyone had luck getting their phones replaced?

Getting your phone replaced is usually the easy bit, its getting it replaced with an iPhone that doesnt also have the issue thats more tricky! I've yet to see a single post that says their new iPhone is fixed =[

I would recommend to contact Apple and provided your handset is still under warranty,  I don't see why they shouldn't replace it.

My original iPhone started displaying this issue back in October, 7 replacements later (I know, 7 of them!) the problem with the green glow seems to not being present on the one I'm using right now.

    Good luck.

I wonder, if the iPhone 6 doesnt have the issue, Apple might be inclined to allow us all a free/pay the difference upgrade (even if were on contracts), as there seem to be no iPhone 5s in existence that dont have some form of green glow? I personally think this issue is much more widespread, its just most people arent noticing it. (or use screen protectors which oddly stop 90% of the green glow)

Yep. Got an appointment Thursday to hopefully get replaced. I hope they don't give me a hassle with it. It's a pretty minor issue but I didn't pay all this money for the thing to have problems!

My iPhone 5 serial number ends with TWD and doesn't have the green glow.

Also, I figure it's been long enough that the replacement phone wouldn't be coming out of a old old shipment, right?

Interesting, seems like your one of the lucky ones! Do you use any kind of screen protector? Try rubbing the screen of your phone with the palm of your hand in a dark area just after you've woken it from sleep, thats when it glows brightest.
