Yes, but I don't think it's related to the material, I think it's just any type of

frictiion that makes it glow. For me, especially if it's been asleep for a long time, independently

of temperature. Where did you get yours from?

Same problem with the leather case....-.-

the problem I see is trying to explain to the apple guys that the phone is broken if every single iPhone they have in store is broken....can't even show them the differenece...and i now there is one because my friend has the exact same model as i do and his is completly fine!!

    Apple....always bullsh*ting me -_-

It sounds like this issue has varying degrees of severity.  I had my phone replaced this week, I don't even notice the green glow anymore, UNLESS i wipe the screen with my entire forearm (which is not a common use scenario)..., I do not see it at any other time than that.

I am aware that the iphone 5 screen is produced differently from previous phones usinga newer in-cell technology (whatever that really means)

well my screen almost glows green every time I unlock it....and if I use my outer palm I can get it to glow almost the whole screen at a time...so the guy at the store told my that I just shouldn't use it that way then but it really annoyes me while playing games -_-

and if I pay 679 Euros I want to be using my iPhone in the way I like without experiencing any difficulties!!

BTW. If schedueled an appointment next week, i'm probably not leaving the store that day without an excellent working device.

I think it has to do with the date the iPhone was produced so i'm hoping they'll have a refreshed stock by next week!

Bought my iPhone in Germany and got it on the very first day.

Today I called the Apple Support and explained my problem. They told me to wait 1-2 weeks until they get a new stock of iPhones. He said that the first stock of iPhones was pretty defective.

Fortunately there are no refurbished devices yet so I will get a brand new one.

Probably I'm going to get the Apple Care though to be prepared for upcoming problems and to get an express exchange.

"He said that the first stock of iPhones was pretty defective."  <-- specifically the screen??

  • freestylesurfer Level 1 (0 points)

He meant in general. But in my opinion the screen is the biggest problem due to the fact that it's a all new display-touch technology which is not sophisticated.

My device is also having a small decalibration of the screen especially at swiping the I/O switchers.

This and the green glow is not acceptable for 679€.

    Amazing they admit that.

Well - I'll keep the link to this thread when I try to

    exchange my glowing one...

I would email Apple and ask for a response.

  • woltek Level 1 (0 points)

    Yeah, right.

I mailed it to apple. Silence.

I mailed it to macrumors.com. Nothing.

Seems like macrumors is to apple what

    fox is to the republicans...

  • tomyiiii Level 1 (35 points)

    are you experiencing the problem?

  • woltek Level 1 (0 points)
