why does macbook pro cannot add lexmark x4875 printer?

Hello! I have been having problems trying to connect my Lexmark x4875 to my macbook pro. Everytime I tried to add the printer, it kept giving me a message saying that it cannot find the software, so I went to the lexmark website and download the driver. Am I supposed to download something else aside from the printer driver? I'll appreciate any help.
