Forget the criticism of Steve Jobs. Keep the topic on track. Ios6 is a total disasterous downgrade for its customers. Apple will change its mind IF the ground swell becomes deafening. The blogs have intensifyed in their negative reviews of ios6. Apple is not a complete fool but needs to act quickly starting with Google Maps and forget this Tom Tom crap you are passing off as Apple Maps.

there are ways to downgrade (don't ask me how, I don't know), but none of them are supported. I've read some comments from people who are saying they want a refund. My advice is to just wait for an update. I don't think you'll get a refund, because nobody forced you to update, you never HAVE to do this. Plus, almost nobody reads the terms and conditions. So there you go.

I have upgraded my iPhone3GS to iOS6.0. The device works in that I can read my gmail, operate my apps, etc but I have lost the bottom line menu on selected apps. For example, I can read gmail but cannot reply, delete or move to folder. I can access maps but cannot select hybrid or satellite view. I am certainly dissatisfied with this "upgrade" and would prefer to revert to the earlier iOS. I have had to send this message using my laptop because I cant send email or blogs from my iPhone. Hopeless. PLEASE APPLE: FIX THIS UP!!

Many thanks Dah.veed. I had not reset settings because of the certain loss of my carefully set up settings over several years. However I did it on your advice and yes, it did solve my problems. I am impressed with this support but disappointed that (you and) I had to go to all this trouble. Previous upgrades have been transparent in their effect on performance. Thanks again.

I have been waiting to update my iPhone 4S to iOS 6 software due to so many people having major issues with it but thought I would finally so it on the 30/12/12. Well FML I am ready to bin the phone and forget all about it ... I can't text certain people and one of them is someone I text many times a day , I am not getting all of my incoming texts , the battery life is woeful , look I could go on and on and on but I just get more and more annoyed.... I am well I was a big promoter of apple / mac products to the point we do not have any windows computer systems in our house anymore.

We have 2 imac's , 4 iPads , 1 MacBook and 3 iPhones ..... So come on apple get it together and provide some real support to fix all of these issues today !!!!

For those who are upset at Apple, remember, the only choice you have is to wipe all the data on the device and sell it.

For those who are frustrated this is the only option. There is no way to downgrade your update. Windows does the same thing. It's just that with our farily new devices, we never expected that they'd take such a performance hit by upgrading (updating) their settings.

With Android phones (not that I like Android very much (it doesn't have that silky movement feel like Apple does, not even with a pure phone or device like Nexus 7 or any Nexus phones you can always downgrade to the previous version as the platform is open source.
