I cannot search in app store since ios6 update.

My restriction setting has been disabled all along, so that was not the cause. Interestingly enough my search function on iTunes store started to work on it's own this morning, so Apple must have fixed something.

I never even updated to IO6, but I had the same inability to search in the App Store. My restrictions were disabled too, but I went into settings/general/restrictions anyway, made no changes, and then got out & voila! Search working.

This really makes mye think that the problem was at Apple's end.

This still doesn't solve my similar problem. Have an Ipad 2 and cannot use search function in App Store or the Featured or Chart functions. Operating IOS 6 for over a week but only got the problem yesterday 2nd Oct). No problems on Iphone.

Have tried a number of fixes suggested on a numbe of forums including reboot, changing date/time etc

Anybody else still having problems?

My New iPad will get a blank white screen everytime I search for something in the app store.

I tried "Reset All Setting", "Reset Network Settings", "Reset Keyboard Dictionary", "Reset Home Screen Layout", "Reset Location & Privacy." Nothing works. I tried the Restrictions method, Restart the iPad by holding down the Hold button until the Apple icon appears, and again nothing works.

It was fine when I first upgraded to IOS 6 but all of a sudden after a few days with IOS 6, the search function on the appstore just did not work and give me a blank white screen.

My daughter's New iPad still works fine with the appstore search function. Only my New iPad is not working. But for some weird reason, the search still works on iTunes just the Appstore Search that gives me a blank white screen. I wonder how long this will last, it's lame because I have to search the appstore using my PC.

Since My 4S updated to iOS6 in a few days after I purchase it,

I'm not sure the problem is caused by iOS6.

The problem is "app store" doesn't work anymore.

I switched to feature or search.. The content is completely blank.

It had lasted few days.

Does apple have answers for it?

Mine actually fixed itself.

None of the reccomended fixes worked for me. I took my phone to the Apple store over the weekend and they determined it was in fact a hardware issue after they were unable to get the phone to enter DFU mode. They replaced the phone and the app store function works perfectly.

On a side note, not a single one of the employees had heard of this issue and they were all completely stumped as to what might have caused the issue in the first place.

I've had the same problem for a week now, but yesterday I manage to solve it be restoring my iphone and restore from Icloud.

I did try all the recommeded fixes like: change the data one year forward, and log out of app store and in again ect.

But reset the entire phone to default in ios6 and restore from icloud did the trick in my case.

To remove many of iOS BUGS, do a fresh restore of iOS 6

Also there is good alternate to Maps app

Download "MAPS+" by IZE, Ltd. Its a good alternate to Apple Maps. Uses Google Maps

Having the same problem, ie unable to search app store after updating to ios6. Can still download and update apps from store, simply no search result.

How does one do a fresh restore of ios 6? I had thid problem, then it went away (not sure why, as I've done just about everything suggested in these forums) now i've got the blank charts and featured tabs again! Aaaarrrrgggghhh! All this on ipad2. My iphone 3gs running ios 5 has no problem on same network. I don't dare upgrade.

Now a day later my iPad 3 fails to show featured apps in the store.... Seems like App Store sales might drop a bit if they don't get this fixed...

I also had this same issue after updating. Everything else in the App Store worked, but no search capabilities. I tried ALL of the suggestions found here, but nothing worked. Finally, today after almost a week of this issue, it has been resolved. I was having issues with my desktop Internet connection, so I unplugged and re-plugged all of the cables leading to the modem, and the search feature is now working again. I have no idea if this is what finally solved the problem, but I thought I would pass the info on, in case it might work for someone else.

I found this and it seemed to help, though I'm not sure which one did it. One note: to get back the original DNS settings you will have to "forget this network" in wifi settings and then sign in again.
