how to tranfer macbook to macbook pro

Hi,

I just got a new mackbook pro and I was using a macbook. I am still unsure of how icloud works, I know I can transfer all of the content from my macbook to my macbook pro through icloud, but I can't seem to figure it out. PLEASE HELP!! I am lost!
