iPhone 5 "Phone Number N/A" and device says Phone Number "Unknown"

I also see "Phone Number: n/a" in iTunes. As far as I can tell, my phone number listing on the phone itself is normal, showing up properly at the top of Contacts.

This might have shown up after I installed the Verizon 13.1 carrier update. But maybe I just missed it previously.

I don't have any of the history of the original poster. I bought my iPhone direct from Verizon.

If you have a sim card, the phone number displayed in iTunes will come from the sim card. Verizon iPhone 5s have sim cards.

I have the same exact problem and it still hasnt been fixed. i went through all those processes. DId you find how to fix it?

My iPhone 5 number is listed correctly in iTunes 11.1.5. My Verizon carrier version is 16.0. (A lot of water under the bridge since this thread was started.)

I just updated my phone to the latest version. i talked to the support people did all the steps and i still can not send sms txts nor will my number show up on itunes or on the phone itself. Im at a loss

This worked for me....

Go to Settings > Phone > My Number....enter your number (if it's not there). Quit and re-open iTunes and Sync.
