Everytime I try to start a video (music or TV) iTunes stops working, why?

I want to watch my TV shows on itunes, but whenever I try to start the video, I get the windows message, "itunes has stopped working" and then it closes down. I also tried putting on music videos that have worked before, and they no longer load, just close down. How can I fix this?!
