Airport express and mifi.

My Verizon 890L mifi will handle up to 5 devices, and I bought the express to extend this internet connection so others can share my internet.

I was told by a Apple tech that I (may) be able to connect an ethernet cable from my MacBook Pro to the Express and then others could connect

to Express that would go thru the laptop thru the mifi to the internet.

When setting up going thru Airport Utility, I'm told that other computers can connect to 'MacBook-Pro-8' which I assume is the Express. However,

no other computers around me are showing that name as a connection.

So now what do I do? Is there another way?
