How to hide accounts on the login screen

In previous versions of OS X, you could add to the array of user names like this:

sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow HiddenUsersList -array-add 'luser'

But that no longer works in 10.8.2.

The initial login screen when you restart the Mac shows all users, regardless of the above list.

Once logged in, if you log out (or bring up the login screen via user switching in the menubar),

the correct (redacted) login screen appears. The HiddenUsersList is not respected by the

initial login screen when you restart, but it does work on subsequent login screens until

the machine is rebooted.

Is anyone else seeing this?

Seems like a bug!
