On a shared reminders list how do I stop it from sending me emails when the share person updates a list?

Before IOS 6, I set Reminders up to share a couple of lists and to send me an email when the other person updated the list. During the transition, I lost the ability to share or unshare a Reminders list. After the transition the shared Reminders lists were restored, along with the email notification function, but there appears to be no way to stop the email notifications. The support article claims there is a prompt for this, but it doesn't appear on my Reminders on the mac.

The Apple Support folks have gone away to ponder this, but as a work-around one can simply delete the offending list and replace it with a new one, then share it. In sharing a new list, no opportunity exists for email notifications of changes to it. It seems the issue of email notifications I previously identified is a vestige defect of the IOS 6 upgrade, which segregated Reminders from the Calendar.

I created a new list just now, and shared it. However, when I added something to the list, the person I shared it with still got an email. Even though when creating a list there is not an option to receive emails when the list is updated, neither is there an option to not receive emails, and the default seems to be "receive emails". This is so very frustrating. I did send a note to Apple. I don't see how this can be such a difficult thing for them to fix. Hoping for a remedy with the next update.

Not really. I just deleted the old list and created a new one, which I set up to share. New lists don't come with the option of email notifications for when one of the shared people changes a list. I still have one list, one created before the IOS 6 upgrade for which I get email notifications, but it's a low-use list, so I don't mind the occasional email.

Hmmmm.....I just set up the shared list a couple of days ago. We just got the phones (iPhone 5) a week and a half ago and are running 6.0.1 and I am still getting the emails.

I will try deleting the old list and creating a new one and see what happens. I don't know what else to try. I have checked the "in app notifications" in icloud in the calendar app for both of us but there is no option for that in the "Reminders" .
