Free iPhone 5 ??

Question, I just got out of my contract with Bell today with NO contract penalties! I wasn't getting proper LTE on my Bell iPhone 5 from day 1 and had them note on my account that if it wasn't rectified I was going back to Rogers and don't want to be charged anything. I stayed in touch all week and ensured that the note stood. Finally today I was able to get an iPhone 5 from Rogers and port the number over. I called Bell to remind them for the 100th time what as happening and they once again confrimed, no charge for anything just usage from Sept 21 till when I port (go back to Rogers).

Well, during the week I also visited the store where I got the Bell iPhone and asked if they'd take it back due to all the LTE issues etc. They didn't say no and didn't say yes, just "I'm not sure, have to check with owner of store" Well I called them today to tell them I'm going back to Rogers ( as they knew too from Day 1 ) and asked about the phone, they once again said they'll have to check with owner of store. I told them he's got till tonight to get back to me or I'm sellig it.

No one got back to me, can I really sell it? My contact has been terminated by Bell offices, nothing owing on their end.

Also note to that the store knew I was waiting to see if the network would be fixed by the end of week or I was going back to Rogers.

What would you do? Sell? Return?

For sure you will be charge if you not return it .

And for anything you buy you got 14 days to return it, so bell got no choice to accept .

Me too i had renew my contract with telus and i am thinking cancelling too due to the same issue that everybody got with the LTE on HSPA networks.

This is totally unfair business they want me to be patient i had open ticket issue but they give no update from the TELUS customer service.

They had not respect their part of the service contract who was to provide a fast and stable LTE and 4G speed.

I think i will go with the best provider for the LTE and it's definitly not TELUS right now !

THEY kepy saying, "not sure if we can take it back".

You choose to interpret that as them not wanting it back.

Others will interpret it as them saying that either they will not let you out of the contract, or they will allow you to keep it because they don't want a used phone, but will charge you for it.

Have you looked at your contract with them, the user agreement, or any other legal documents that are part of your initial signup with them? I would not rely on any verbal statement; most contracts require that changes are made in writing. And I would ask professionals for opinions if necessary.

Hi Runch, good to see you could return it, and once again, even though bell doesn't usually do it, it is possible to terminate your contract within 30 days.

Anyways, sounds like you got Ur iPhone from a franchise (privately owned bell store). As someone who has worked at bell, let me tell u that you need to give them the phone back. If you don't, you're looking at bell sending you $700 bill for the phone.

Give the store their phone back. The guys at the store are inexperienced but a privately owned store would do anything to make sure that they don't get a return or they loose money.

Just go to the store and give it to them. If they are still confused: tell them to call "NCS" and they would guide them to what needs to be done on Bell's infonet for the paperwork. They might treat u a bit harshly because they are loosing their commission and secondly they have to return the phone back to bell so their owner didn't make any money off of the iPhone and lost one activation. Anyways, good luck.

Well, get this.

I'm with Rogers and I got my iPhone 5 on Sunday and for 1 day I had fine LTE and 3 bars, then on the 2nd day I started getting 3G in that same area with 3 bars, then on the 3rd day, it was me switching airplane mode about 10 times a day and I was also getting 2bars and an E where it says LTE usually... The fourth day I had it all the way till now, it's said Searching... So for 4 days stair I had the searching thing.

I went to Rogers, but the guy there just did the hard reboot( witch I told him I already did) then he hands me back the phone and says "take it to apple"
