If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).

If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

This sound pretty much like the problem your having:

iOS: Device disabled after entering wrong passcode

You may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device.

  1. Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
  2. Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
  3. When the backup is complete, select Restore.
  4. When finished, restore from your most recent backup.

This should do the trick then:

- Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.

- Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.

- While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.

- Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.

- iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.

tried what you said all i have now on ipad is itunes symbol & showing plug with arrow on screen of ipad

You should connect it to your computer and open iTunes. You will get a message saying something like:

"iTunes have detected an iPad in reocvery mode, you have to restore it..."

On the left side of the iTunes application window you will see the name of the iPad, click the iPad name and

press the button saying Restore. Press that button to erase the iPad´s operating system and reinstall it, when

this process is complete it will be configured with factory defaults.
