help me on previewing a picture

I have opened a picture from a folder ,why am i not able switch to another picture in the same folder by using the arrow keys ?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)

If you are using Preview and have only opened one picture, then that will be the only one that shows. In Preview, you need to select all of the images (Command + A) and then open Preview to move through all of them.


The following suggestion may be better. In Finder have the folder showing the pictures in icon view. Then selecting one in Quicklook, you can use the arrow keys to move from one to the next.
