Convert to Pages Line Breaks (LF) - bbedit grep

Hello everyone,

I am looking for a way to convert Unix line feeds into what Pages consider to be line breaks (NOT a paragraph break or a carriage return - see Pages Find/Replace to see the difference), using bbedit v10.1.2.

I have tried replacing \r by \n using find/replace with the Grep option checked but can't seem to get the desired result.

Sorry to put some bbedit stuff here but can't seem to find any helpful info on Barebones Support website.

Vincent,

You can use Pages Find and Replace to Find any character that can be held in a Pages document, and to Replace with any character that than be held in a Pages document. You are not limited to the special characters in the drop-down menu. Just Copy the character in the text and Paste to the Find or Replace field.

Thanks for your answers.

I thought there was a way to insert (or find/replace), in a clean text file in BBEdit, the proper sequence of invisible characters which when further copied/pasted into a Pages document is interpreted as a line break.

It does not seem so.

Will use Pages Find/Replace instead.

Correction: it is possible.

Found the answer in Jeffrey Friedl's Mastering Regular Expressions.

Pages uses BBEdit's \x{2028} unicode character as a line break.

InDesign uses BBEdit's \x{000A} unicode character as a line break.

Not any more! 5.0.1 doesn't copy characters like carriage returns - it justs puts a space into the "Find" field when I try to copy a return. Has anybody figured this out? I have to clean up documents and being able to replace three returns with one is important to me.
