duplicate bookmarks

why are my bookmarks duplicating themselves?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7)

If you are using iCloud, open System Preferences > iCloud

Deselect the box next to Safari then reselect.

Give iCloud a minute or two to re sync your bookmarks.
