write access not granted
Trying to save images in PS CS6 but keep getting the message that I cannot because "write access not granted"
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
Where in your directory are you trying to save to?

Have tried to save to same folder as un-edited image in (external drive) and to desktop.....same message both times
Choose your Home folder in your Finder Sidebar. Then "Get Info" cmd-i.
In Sharing & Permissions pane what are the permissions?

I am fairly new to mac so may be a little slow.
I have checked as you ask and it suggests that I have both read and write permission.

I have tried cmd-i on various files and applications.....and when i try it on the external hard drive it says I have read only access???

May I also ask a question.....in some cases it says that I have read & Write ; everyone has read only ; and Wheel has read only ---- what does wheel refer to ?
AFA the external at the bottom of the "Info" window is the box "Ignore ownership on this drive check marked?"
The other folder I want you to check is on your own internal HD, the folder you need to check is the one with your name on it. The "house" icon.
Full path Macintosh HD/Users/yourname

Here's the check box on the external...
The other one we still need to see permissions on is your Home folder on Machintosh HD/Users/yourname
This is what I get - as you can see it does not give me the option to change this.

There's your problem Mac cannot read an NTFS drive.

Terrific. That's fine. The problem is the NTFS format on the other drive.
If you want to use it on Mac, you need to copy off your data, then erase it on a PC.
