Don't bother. Your opinion of Android and whether or not it suits your needs is not relevent to these forums.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

There isn't any door and your opinion is only one in the vast universe called the Internet, so get over yourself.

I'll be back when/if I discover a solution to the problem, either way it goes. Who knows, maybe Apple will actually fix IOS-6 or the Android will be a better option. It's certainly more cost effective.

Developers must update their apps and keep one version back compatibility.

Apple may do the same. A "one version downgrade" option will be nice.

At least the option to restore without update iOS.

But anyway it's much better than to wait for 6 months to update your software. (Android)

    Peace

That would be a great solution for the short term and, in my opinion, a good policy going forward. I'd also be delighted to see a version 6.1.1 that corrects the IOS issue and restores compatibility with earlier apps that worked on IOS 4...5.1.1.

They've had time to do one of these things so I'm not optimistic that either will occur. But you never know. Sometimes the right people just need to hear the argument properly made, in order to do the right thing.

All I know at the moment is that the "system" that comprises multiple security cameras, and DVR's, chosen for features that each had to offer, along with the IPAD, for remote monitoring and control functions, is no longer workable with the "updated" IOS-6, making them as good as "bricked" for my purposes. This is unacceptable for now and for the future, and is completely unexpected in this industry; Unless, of course, the plan is to force obsolescence through sleazy, back door methods, and not by offering a better product that people want.

Am I missing something , All I see here are complaints about IOS 6 breaking some IP Cam viewers, but no explanation of the issue , no step by step breakdown to re-create the issue etc.

It seems to me that the issue you speak of in the vaguest terms apply may only apply to those apps you refer to.

Let me assure you that we provide support to ip camera's also and we have not seen a whole lot of difference in operation betweeen ios 5.1 and ios 6. The biggest bug we've seemed to encountered was on the rotation of the video preview windows.

There are serveral pieces to an Ipcamera application and you need to provide were the problems are.

    1) Network

    2) Service and discovery

    3) Command and control

    4) video playback (typically rtsp or mjpeg)

Again, we have not seen issues with our client apps in any of the above since moving to ios 6.

I thought the main problem of iOS6 for IP camera is iOS6 browser(Safari) do not support mjpeg streaming anymore. I can see the video from my IPCAM in my iPhone4 Safari before upgrade to iOS6.  However, after upgrade to iOS6, Apple might broken mjpeg streaming function in iOS6.
