Q: Iphone 5 will "not" pair with uconnect

Iphone 5 will "not" pair with uconnect. Never had this problem with my 3GS and recently paired my wifes Samsung cell phone with "no problem". Wondering if the uconnect needs a software update (2009 Chrysler T & C) , ios 6 problem or just problem with iphone 5? Thanks!

iPhone 5, iOS 6, Also own iphone 3GS

Have the same issue - have a 2012 Wrangler - worked great with the 4s but my iPhone 5 doesn't see any bluetooth to connect to now... ***** - am hoping it's a software issue with iOS 6. Hoping for a fix asap.

Apple would "not" replace my Iphone 5 till went to dealer and had my bluetooth on u connect system updated. Advisor acted like I just come from the planet Mars when I told him what I needed. So a tech advisor went with to my vehicle and connect his 4S then went and about a minute flat "paired" my iphone 5! I seen him go through a step that even the manufacter's manual did not even mention to "pair" an iphone using bluetooth! I then asked what he had done and so he showed me to successfully start the "pairing" process the four digit code he used for the u connect and on the iphone screen came up displaying u connect and just to the right it says "not" paired. I had been there around twenty times myself! He then pressed the "not paired" display and when he did the keypad popped up and the advisor put in the "same" four didgit code that he originally had used to start the pairing in uconnect and then press the "complete or done" button on the iphone keypad after doing this the u connect displays "pairing process has begun" and less than a minute it did! All the phones including my 4GS I "never" had to do that and I had "never" had a pairing problem before so to me it must the new IOS 6 system!

I'm not sure i understand exactly - or perhaps we had different problems? When i try to connect to Uconnect with the iphone 5 - i don't see anything in my devices list on the iphone. It's just blank - like it doesn't see uconnect at all so i am not able to choose anything to pair to.

The pairing process only starts when you type in a code after you push "Pair" in Uconnect. Uconnect then pops up in your IPhone 5 Bluetooth window. Type in the same code and then away you go.

I would call Apple first then you will most likely end up going back your local Chrysler dealer and I'm sure they will solve your problem there.

I'm not sure if anybody else actually found a fix for this, but here's the workaround that worked for me.

I was experiencing the same problem that many people were reporting. iPhone 4/4s was able to pair without a problem, but the iPhone 5 was not pairing with my Jeep 2012 Grand Cherokee Uconnect system.

I tried a bunch of stuff, to no avail. Here's what I was able to do to get it to work.

I completely restored my iPhone 5 to factory defaults. I DID NOT 'restore' to a previous backup, but rather set up the phone as a new phone. And that did the trick! I think it has something to do with restoring from a previous version that caused the software error to not allow the bluetooth to connect. The go through the pairing process as outlined in the owner's manuals of both your iphone and your jeep's Uconnect system.

    Cheers!

I bought the iphone5 and it worked perfectly with uconnect but yesterday I updated the software to iOS 6.1.4 and stopped working, the bluetooth can't find uconnect. I think it's a problem with the new software.

Caktus30, try the comment I posted above. That worked for me, and it's still working.

I have had the same problem. I have a 2010 Jeep Patriot with Uconnect. Just got my new iPhone 5 and the devices dial would just spin in the Now Discoverable window. The phone would never find the Uconnect. My problem was solved by doing the following steps:

On the iPhone 5 go settings- bluetooth on

On the Uconnect go to-Uconnect Set-up, -Phone Pairing- Pair Phone.

Unconnect will ask for a four digit code-- Just say 0,0,0,0 or any four digit code.

Wait a few seconds, a bluetooth PIN box will show up on your iPhone 5. Type the code into the PIN Box on your phone.

Pair the phone. Unconnect will show up in the devices section of bluetooth.

    This worked for me.

Just remember that you wont see the device in the discoverable window until after the Pairing.

    Good luck.

I had the problem with my 300c not connecting with iphone 5s or sometimes it would connect and was just mute on phone and car. My workaround was to delete the connection from uconnect and iphone, and then

1 in uconnect settings instead of using "PAIRED PHONE DEVICES"click "PAIRED AUDIO DEVICES"

2  use the code at pairing and you have a "paired" phone. 3 days and no mute or connection issues at all

    Strange maybe but it works

    Hope this helps

Ok iphone5 users. Since this 7.1 update on out phones anyone who owns a crystler, dodge or jeep can not connect to the uconnect in their car. I've call apple and dodge and no one could help me. So I did some snooping around and found a uconnect app in the store. I downloaded this app went back to my 2012 dodge charger sxt plus and long and behold the phone found the uconnect Bluetooth. My phone now works in my car and no more issues. I hope this info helps most of you with your vehicle. God bless.

I had the same problem as everyone but 890Macwill's suggestion worked! Thank you so much! Anyone else having this issue should try this. Could save a lot of time and anguish.
