Cannot connect to WiFi says "No IP address"

In my network settings, I try to connect to my home WiFi. I have connected to this network before but now when I click on it, the dot on the left hand side goes orange and it says under it "No IP address", the wifi symbol in the bar at the top right of the screen shows that when i click on it that it searches for the network but after a few seconds an "!" appears over the symbol.

Anyone know how to fix this?

thanks

Try this:

1. Go to; System Preferences > Network > Advanced. In the "Wi-Fi" section select your network and click the minus button to delete it ( - ).

2. After you do this, power off your Wi-Fi router and unplug it and wait at least 10 seconds before plugging it back in.

3. While you're doing this, restart your mac.

4. Now when the Wi-Fi's back up again choose it for your mac, insert the password, and you should access now.
Please inform me on how you did. (:
